Local Council Networking Event
There’s a lot happening in the world of planning at national and local levels at the moment. This event will help town and parish councils navigate the upcoming changes and is perfect for councillors, clerks and those involved with planning committees.
Members of Dorset Council’s Planning Team will be in attendance to answer questions and to explain what is happening with:
- Dorset Council’s Local Plan
- Upcoming changes to the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF)
- The Planning Team’s transformation programme and how it affects local councils
- Key planning developments Dorset Council is monitoring and what local councils should focus on in the coming 12-18 months
- Breakout sessions on Neighbourhood Plans
A big part of the day will be about Neighbourhood Plans – a key tool for many councils in helping to shape their communities and development. But where does all this change leave Neighbourhood Plans? Clarity will be provided by experts regardless of where a council might be in the process: those with an existing Plan, those with one in progress and those at the very beginning or even still considering if it’s the right thing to do. These three topic sessions will run at the same time meaning delegates only attend the session with information relevant to them.
Don't miss out on this important event that ensures local councils are prepared for the changes ahead and the future of planning.
Suitable for: Councillors, Clerks and their team and planning and neighbourhood plan committee members (non-councillors). You may also invite your N Plan consultant if you feel it may help.
Registration: open now! USE THIS LINK to book your places.
Prices: single delegate - £75, 3 or more from the same council - £70 per delegate. Includes welcome coffee/teas and lunch. DAPTC will email in advance, as normal, all delegates to gather and accessibility or dietary requirements.
ADDITIONAL MEETING FOR CLERKS / SLCC MEMBERS: SLCC Dorset Branch will have their Annual Meeting just ahead of the start time in the same venue. Details to be issued shortly by the SLCC Dorset secretary.
