This webinar will be recorded and slide resources made available the day after for delegates and those unable to attend.

You can expect an introduction to Litter Free Dorset’s Sustainable Business Network with lots of tips on how local councils can support businesses in their area to reduce their impact on the environment, with free resources and networking opportunities. We will tackle the issue of packaging, particularly food and drink packaging which is so often the source of litter in our county; demystifying different materials, so you go away with a better understanding of the options available and what can and can’t be effectively processed by Dorset Council’s waste and recycling teams.

Plus, our innovative BYO Campaign which aims to promote Dorset businesses that are happy for customers to Bring Your Own container – e.g. coffee cup, shopping bag, food container, and encourage shoppers to do this regularly. It’s an opportunity for businesses to shout about the changes they are making, as well as a way to save money and storage space!

We’ll also discuss the environmental impact of events such as festivals and markets; we know town and parish councils give a huge amount of support to local events, and there are small changes that all event organisers can introduce to make their events more sustainable from the ground up; using our free Sustainable Event Guide is a simple way of reducing the environmental impact of any events taking place in your area and contributing towards your council’s climate and ecological emergency agenda.
