ASK ME ANYTHING - ELECTIONS SPECIAL!

Since returning in the New Year we have a had a steady flurry of emails primarily with questions from Clerks that have not yet handled an election - i.e. they have taken up the role after May 2019. We have already scheduled a briefing on 16 April to undertake a refresher on key processes like register of interests and declaration of acceptance of office. However, the Election Toolkit has prompted a few more questions around Annual Meetings of Council too.

We think there may be more clerks out there that might benefit from a drop in to help clarify matters on key procedures. If you fit one of these criteria this may help you - just join with your questions:

  • Never been involved with administering a parish or town through an election - i.e. appointed after May 2019
  • Been appointed to role after May 2023 and not organised an annual meeting of council
  • Have processed one election - but have some questions to refresh my memory! We have set aside 90 minutes where you can drop in and benefit from sharing your questions with other clerks.
