Information for session 6 for the students in 2025
The resources, slides and reference materials will be available here for each online or in person session.
This opening session is online and lasts for 5 hours with comfort breaks and a lunch break.
Please join online at least 5 minutes before the scheduled start time or arrive in person in good time to park and get to the training room.

SESSION CONTENT - Management for Councils & Community Engagement
In this session the following Learning Objectives (LO) are covered:
- LO21 - Understands managing projects, services, assets
- LO22 - Advise council on responsibilities for staff/volunteers
- LO23 - Can write or review a training and development policy
- LO24 - Understands how to write an appropriate response to a planning application
- LO25 - Understands diversity in local communities
- LO26 - Understands impact of positive community engagement
- LO27 - Advises council on raising the council's profile
- LO28 - Ensures transparency of council's decisions and actions
- LO29 - Can write or review a grant awarding policy
- LO30 - Can create an action plan for the council
