As part of the development of Dorset’s new Public Art Guidelines, The Arts Development Company invites representatives from Town Councils, funders, and other commissioning bodies to join us for a dedicated workshop focused on the role of commissioners in public art.
This session will explore your experiences and needs around commissioning public art, from navigating planning processes and working with artists, to ensuring projects are inclusive, sustainable, and aligned with local priorities.
Your insights will directly inform the guidelines and tools that will support the commissioning and delivery of high-quality, meaningful public art across Dorset. Together, we’ll identify best practices, challenges, and practical solutions to ensure the guidelines work for you.
