Dorset National Landscape Recruiting Nature Buddies

Volunteers required to help people get out and about in nature.

Dorset National Landscape has secured funding from The National Lottery Heritage Fund to help more people access nature and heritage sites for physical and mental health benefits. The funding is to be used to set up a Nature Buddies network across Dorset. Some people struggle to get out and about to enjoy the nauture and heritage sites Dorset has to offer due to low confidence, lack of knowledge or safety concerns. For many, having company on such outings can help them overcome these barriers. Dorset National Landscape's aim is to build a network of trained volunteers - Nature Buddies - who are embedded in local organisations and groups and who can be matched with people in need of such support.

Dorset National Landscape is asking for help from parish and town councils to promote the scheme. Posters can be downloaded from their website to advertise the scheme or printed copies by post can be requested using the details below.
