Dear County officer/ national assembly member
Can I thank you for your support in 2024. My colleagues at NALC and I look forward to working with you in 2025 which, with a very positive agenda framed by the devolution whitepaper, should be an exciting year!
As you know NALC’s fee for 2025/2026 will be 8.34 pence per elector, capped at £2137 for the largest councils. As a reminder and for new county officers the timetable and process for payment is as follows. On 1 April NALC will issue an invoice for 80% of the previous year’s total. Payment is due by the end of June and early payment helps our cashflow. On 1 July NALC issues a form requesting council details including electorates for the current year for return by the end of August. We then send the final balancing invoice on 1 September for payment by end of September.
During discussions at last year’s National Assembly and AGM there were requests for additional information on benefits of membership for you to use with councils.

Last year’s membership numbers were very healthy with around 87% of councils in membership. A breakdown by county is attached. If you wish to look at the membership details, the primary account contact at each County Association, can view their member lists on the NALC website in My account > Manage members.
