The Parish spans the Jurassic Coast to Poole Bay and includes the iconic Corfe Castle, thriving village life, significant heritage sites, and areas of national ecological importance. No two weeks are the same, with responsibilities ranging from governance and financial management to supporting community initiatives and coordinating work with key local partners.
About the Role
The Clerk & RFO is the Council’s principal administrator and adviser, responsible for:
- Managing the Council’s business, governance and statutory duties
- Preparing agendas, minutes and policy documents
- Overseeing finances, budgeting and audit compliance
- Supporting councillors and liaising with residents, organisations and public bodies
- Acting as the main point of contact for the Parish Council
- Working from home, which serves as the Council’s office
The Council is well‑run, holds “competent council” status, maintains strong governance systems, and enjoys constructive working relationships with local partners including the National Trust and Dorset Council.
