Free Weymouth Car Parks for Charitable Events

Event organisers in Weymouth can apply for free car parking to support their event, thanks to a partnership between Dorset Council and Weymouth Town Council.

Applicaton for Weymouth-based charities and local organisations is by a short survey which asks for details including the size of the event, benefit to the town and which car park(s) they would like to select. Four days can be selected for free of charge use of Dorset Council operated car parks in Weymouth, except in December. The inititative will support events that will encourage high footfall in the town.

Applications must be made by 12pm, Wednesday 1 April. Available car parks include:

  • Cosens Quay
  • Governors Lane
  • Harbourside
  • Melcombe Regis
  • North Quay
  • Park Street
  • Pavilion
  • Pavilion Forecourt
  • Royal Yard
  • Swannery
  • The Nothe
  • Lodmoor

Applications will be considered by the Environment and Services Committee in April. Committee Chair, Cllr Matt Bell, said: “It’s great to be able to work in partnership again with Dorset Council to offer free parking dates to support popular events in our seaside town. This will provide a real boost for the town while supporting event organisers to draw more people to come and enjoy a day out in Weymouth.”
