Small One-off Capital Grants Fund from Dorset Council

A new fund is open for applications and is perfect for parish and town councils and village halls.

This is a great opportunity for local community groups to access a small one-off capital grant of between £5,000 - £15,000 to develop local facilities and infrastructure that enhances local spaces and amenities. Those applying only need to provide 20% of their total project costs rather than 80% with other funds.

Dorset Council anticpate applications from parish and town councils, village halls, sports clubs, food networks and family hubs if they meet the criteria. The fund can be used for a variety of projects including village hall improvements, groundworks, play area improvements, sports pitches, greenspaces and small improvements to museums and arts venues. Grants are designed for groups that have 20% of funds in place and are able to proceed relatively quickly as monies need to be spent in this financial year with funded projects completed by the end of February 2026.

Key dates
  • opens Wednesday 23 April 2025
  • applications close Thursday 5 June 2025 at midnight
  • Grants Panel will assess applications by the end June 2025
