SLCC and NALC are encouraging town, parish and community councils to complete a survey sharing information about how their council operates.
Completion of the survey will help address the current lack of national data on local councils and will gather information on the wide range of services provided including community facilities, allotments, grant schemes and devolved services. It also asks about staffing, council budgets, councillor numbers, and other key information. By taking part, your council will help build a more accurate picture of the sector, strengthening understanding of the vital role local councils play and supporting future development.
Developed by the Improvement and Development Board’s (IDB) Data Task Force, the survey takes around 15 minutes to complete. It is hosted by Parish Online and features an interactive map that can be viewed at anytime for a variety of results.
To ensure your council's data is included in the initial analysis, please submit a response by 31 August 2026.
