Dorset Council, with DAPTC, are looking to improve Community Emergency & Resilience Plans (CERPs) in the Dorset Council area.
Clerks who came along to the conference in Blandford Forum, 6 February, have already had a heads up that DAPTC has agreed to help Dorset Council in its aim to improve the reach, consistency and coordination of emergency response across the council area. We're expecting this work to begin in earnest in March, starting with a survey to be followed with updated guidance and a new CERP template. Our role will be to help get the message out to parish and town councils about the benefits to communities of developing a plan and to provide support to those looking to develop one. We'll also be looking to support those who already have a plan but want help developing it to conform with current best practice.
For those wanting to explore the background, the current guidance is available on the Dorset Prepared website - USE THIS LINK - but we recommend waiting for the updated guidance and template before embarking on your CERP journey.
