This e-learning course will develop understanding of the importance of customer service and the power it has to make a break a person's day and ultimately a council's reputation.

Most of us have endured bad customer service at some point. Clerks and councillors interact with customers regularly and it is important that these interactions are successful.

By the end of the course, you should be able to:

  • Understand the principles of customer loyalty and how to build it through your interactions
  • Communicate more persuasively and effectively via the phone, video calls, face-to-face, and in writing
  • Provide a better level of customer service by using your customer service skills 'toolkit'
  • Understand the customer complaint resolution cycle and how to deal with common customer service challenges
