Chairing an Effective Meeting
This course is aimed at new chairs and vice chairs of councils and committees and to those considering stepping into such roles. It can also act as a refresher to those already in post and with more experience.
The course is delivered in two parts; a video and, at a later date, an online session. There are a maximum of six places to ensure all of your questions are answered and important points thoroughly discussed.
Pricing:
- £60 for chair attendance
- £80 for chair and vice chair attendance
- £100 for chair, vice chair and clerk attendance

Part 1: 30 minute video
Watch a video for an overview of the role of chair and learn some hints and tips.
A link to the recording will be emailed two weeks before Part 2 to give plenty of time to watch at your convenience. Please note any questions that come to mind to bring to Part 2.
Part 2: 90 minute online session
A relaxed session aimed at helping you prepare for this important council role or refreshing the knowledge you already have.
There will be a recap on some of the video's main themes combined answers to your questions and an opportunity to discuss aspects and share ideas with other attendees.
Resources
A resource pack with hints, tips and guidance will be emailed to all attendees after Part 2 of the course.
