Data Protection Essentials*

This e-learning course is for everyone as anyone who processes personal data must comply with data protection rules and follow good practice in data management. 

By the end of the course you should be able to recognise why fair and effective data management is important to individuals and to society as a whole. You'll have an understanding of data protection legislation and regulations, penalties for breaches and work practices that don't breach data protection principles and individuals' rights. You'll also learn how to respond to requests for information from individuals in a way that is legal and effective.

Please note: to complete CDF Essentials take this course or Data Protection & GDPR for Councillors. Completion of both is not necessary despite an asterisk being applied to both courses.
