Becoming a clerk to your local parish or town council can be a rewarding experience. Initially it can also be quite daunting and difficult to understand.
We will try and ease you into your new role with some helpful training interventions aimed at making sense of some of the acronyms, topics and procedures required.
In addition to the training shown below, the Clerks' Seminar in October is a useful opportunity to meet clerks of all levels of experience from around Dorset and to hear from speakers who are interesting and very relevant to the sector.
DAPTC also offer free monthly one hour session to help new Clerks (and elected members and prospective councillors) understand how we support members in Dorset. Neil, Debbie and Lisa will be on hand to talk you through the resources available and an overview of the Dorset Association of Parish and Town Councils (DAPTC) and how we link up with National Association of Local Councils (NALC), Dorset Council and Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council (BCP).
